Q.
What would be the market value of this collection?
A. That's hard to tell, but let's assume that the average
price of a single score is $3.00, that would bring us to about $2,000.00.
This does not include the value of the new sheet music we will add in
the coming year.

Q.
What does "free public domain" mean?
A. Copyright law in the US, where the AllPianoSheetmusic server
is based, stipulates that a piece enters into the public domain when
the composer has been dead for 75 years. Similarly, a publication of
their work may be distributed freely once the copyright on that edition
is 75 years out of date.
The majority of scores featured are from pre-1925 music editions such
as C.F. Peters, Brietkopf and Hartel, Bach-Gesselschaft and various
other editions. These are all old enough to be out of copyright in essentially
all countries. We can therefore distribute them on-line without royalty,
and users can legally download them.
AllPianoSheetmusic acknowledges ultimate responsibility for the legality
of all material on this web site.

Q.
All I get is a blank page when I download a piece, how can I solve this?
A. Just before you click on a file to download first
refresh the page. (F5 in windows)
If that doesn't work then first delete your temporary internet files.
(In internet explorer from the menu "Extra, options...")
Next when you are on a composers' page ready to download, refresh. (F5)
Then try to download again. This usually does the trick.

Q.
What if I still have trouble viewing or printing scores?

Q.
How long does it take to download a score?
A. The sheet music available here sizes at roughly 45kB per
page, give or take some. Most files here are less than 1 mB. In the
subscribers section the file size and an estimated download time with
a 56k modem are indicated with each file.
After clicking a file to download, please be patient, because it can
take a few minutes. If you doubt that the score is actually downloading,
just watch the lights on your modem.
If you have trouble downloading a particular file, please let
us know.
